SVMCM


Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship (SVMCM) is a scholarship program in the state of West Bengal, India. It aims to provide financial assistance to students who are unable to afford their fees. Here are the key points about SVMCM:

1.     Swami Vivekananda Scholarship has been operated in the state of West Bengal by the Higher Education department, for students who are not able to afford their fees.

2.     The scheme benefits students studying at under Graduate level in Science/Arts/Commerce, Engineering, Medical and Technical / Professional courses, Post Graduate level students pursuing Science/Arts/Commerce & Technical/Management. These scholarships will be sanctioned to deserving students on merit-cum-means criteria.

OASIS 

Oasis scholarship is a scholarship scheme organized by the Government of West Bengal and assists students from the SC/ST and OBC categories to pursue their education. The scholarship is exclusively available to West Bengal domiciles and can be applied online through the official portal.

Kanyashree Prakalpa(K2)

Kanyashree Prakalpa seeks to improve the status and wellbeing of girls, specifically those from socio-economically disadvantaged families through Conditional Cash Transfers by:

·         Incentivizing them to continue in education for a longer period of time, and complete secondary or higher secondary education, or equivalent in technical or vocational steams, thereby giving them a better footing in both the economic and social spheres.

·         Disincentivising marriage till at least the age of 18, the legal age of marriage, thereby reducing the risks of early pregnancies, associated risks of maternal and child mortality, and other debilitating health conditions, including those of malnutrition.

·         It was also decided that the Scheme should confer more than just monetary support; it should be a means of financial inclusion and a tool of empowerment for adolescent girls. The schemes benefits are therefore paid directly to bank accounts in the girls names, leaving the decision of utilization of the money in their hands.

Aikyashree Scholarship

 Aikyashree Scholarship is a government initiative in the state of West Bengal, India, aimed at providing financial assistance to economically disadvantaged students pursuing higher education. It supports students from various minority communities, including Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Parsis.

Student Credit Card Scheme

 Under the visionary leadership of Mamata Banerjee, Hon’ble Chief Minister, West Bengal, The Higher Education department, Government of West Bengal has introduced the Student Credit Card Scheme for the students of West Bengal to enable them to pursue education without having any financial constraints. This scheme is designed to support the students to pursue secondary, higher secondary, madrasah, undergraduate and post graduate studies including professional degree and other.
