Objective

The objective of BCA course is to develop skills and enthusiasm in students who desire to explore new vistas in the field of Computer Education which is the most burning area of Science that has a very promising future for those who choose to be a part of this program. It is a three years full-time degree course. This course provides a sound academic base from which an advanced career in computer application can be developed.

Duration of Course

The BCA course is a full time four years (eight semesters) Bachelor's Degree in Computer Application.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate is required to have passed higher secondary . 10+2 or equivalent of any recognized Board or Council with Maths / Computer Application / Computer Science / Statistics - any one of them.

Higher Study

After BCA the students can do some Master Degree courses such as MCA, MS or M.Sc in Information Technology or Computer Science which will provide an in-depth knowledge to the students in their own field.

Scopes

There is a huge spectrum of scope with respect to career development for the individuals who have taken up their higher education in computer applications.
They can get the opportunity for computer faculty jobs or work education teacher in West Bengal Schools through School Service Commission (SSC), Navodaya Vidyalaya, other all govt. jobs.. Apart from these, many government information technology companies like BHEL, NSDL, NTPC, SAIL are hiring BCA graduates.

The BCA graduates can have a variety of jobs in private sectors. Several reputed companies like Digital Aptech, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Cognigent, Sett Consultancy, etc. are recruiting BCA graduates.
